Does PeoplesHost offer Reseller hosting plans? The short answer is no.
One of the most common pre-sale questions we receive from people is whether or not they should choose a Reseller hosting plan or choose a VPS hosting plan.
Reseller hosting is shared hosting and often unreliable. The issue with reseller account(s) is that resellers are typically only limited on the number of domains by the amount of resources their plan limits specify. This means that if the web hosting company is not careful with the number of resellers they put on a server (which is difficult because they need to get a return on their investment), the server can easily become overloaded and could have upwards of 20,000+ domains on the server.
With that number of domains, email accounts, databases, etc., you can imagine that the server can quickly be overcome with only a few websites getting too much traffic. Additionally, it only takes one compromised email account to cause issues for ALL other email accounts on the server.
Therefore, we prefer to put resellers on a Virtual Private Server (VPS) environment. With this solution, resellers still enjoy having reseller privileges (more than what they would on a shared reseller plan), a more segregated environment, which in turn provides them with a more reliable service for their customers.
